Does Auto History Wipe delete my bookmarks?
No — your bookmarks are never deleted. Clearing browsing history can make Chrome temporarily reset the little icons (favicons) next to your bookmarks until you revisit the site. This is standard Chrome behavior that affects every history cleaner, and your bookmarks themselves always stay safe.
Is it really free and private?
Yes. Auto History Wipe is completely free, makes no network requests, contains no analytics or tracking, and stores all settings locally on your device. There is nothing to sign up for.
Can it clear my Google account search suggestions?
Auto History Wipe clears what your browser stores locally — browsing history and form data. If you are signed in to your Google account, personalized search suggestions are stored on Google's servers and cannot be removed by any browser extension. You can manage those at myactivity.google.com or by signing out.

The entire interface is available in 49 languages. You can choose any language independently of your browser and display it in your own language, in English, or both side by side.
Does it clean automatically when I open the browser?

How is it different from Chrome's built-in Clear browsing data?
Chrome's built-in tool is fully manual — you have to open it and click through it every time. Auto History Wipe automates the whole thing: it can clear your data on startup or on a schedule, remembers your preferences, protects your bookmarked sites, and cleans with a single click or a keyboard shortcut.
Will clearing cookies log me out of my websites?
Clearing cookies signs you out of sites, which is usually the point of a clean. If you want to stay logged in to certain sites, add them to your whitelist or turn on bookmark protection — Auto History Wipe keeps their cookies while clearing everything else.
Does it slow down my browser?
No. Auto History Wipe is extremely lightweight and only does work while it is actually cleaning. Clearing cache and history can even make Chrome feel faster and free up disk space.
Can it delete my history when I close Chrome?
Modern Chrome (Manifest V3) doesn't let any extension run reliably the moment the browser closes, so a true 'clear on exit' isn't possible. Auto History Wipe does the same job more reliably: turn on Clean on Browser Startup and your history, cache and cookies are wiped the next time Chrome opens — before you browse again. You can also clean on a schedule or instantly with Ctrl+Shift+E.
